Interviewed  by British magazine Four Four Two, the  Argentinian striker Lionel Messi told that the idol of his childhood was not an Argentinian, but a Brazilian.

Messi-‘Ronaldo was my hero’

It is indeed Ronaldo, the former striker of the Selecao, sacred France Football Ballon d’Or in 1997 and 2002. “Ronaldo was my hero. I loved watching players like Zidane, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo,  but Ronaldo is the best striker I’ve ever seen, “said Messi.

The Argentina international, who is aiming at a  fourth  Ballon d’Or this year, is today still in admiration of the former player of  Barça, Inter and Real Madrid: “He was so fast he could score from scratch, and I’ve never seen anyone hit the ball better than him. ”
