Ibrahimovic:”It’s time for the Ballon d’Or to be won by someone other than Messi” 3

The Swedish Paris Saint-Germain and former Barcelona FC player, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, admitted that he would not like the next Ballon d’Or to again be awarded to his ex-teammate Leo Messi. “He had a great season personally but he didn’t win much with his team. He’s already won the trophy three times and, if it goes on like that, it’ll be difficult for anyone else to get it. It’s time someone else won it”, the player asserted in comments made on the Eurosport ‘Eurogoals’ programme.

Ibrahimovic also explained the main reason for his leaving Milan to go to PSG. “I think it’s a stronger team than Milan. With the arrival of Thiago Silva, myself and other important players, the club has been able to acquire top quality”, he asserted.

In that respect, the Swedish striker is convinced he will be able to achieve great things with the Parisian team. “I firmly believe that PSG can become one of the best teams in Europe and the world but, for that, we have to win”, Ibrahimovic said.

“I try to improve on my record every year. I scored 35 goals with Milan last season. I will try to beat that this year but that’s not the most important thing. The key for me is to win titles with the team; that will be my objective for this season”, he concluded.
