In a recent interivew Comolli said, “My advice would be sign the contract and stay at Liverpool unless there is something which makes him really uncomfortable. We tried to look after Raheem as much as we could – he was really a long-term project – and I think he should commit.
“I really don’t think money should be an issue. He is 18 and it is going to be one of many contracts he is going to sign and he is going to end up being a wealthy individual.

“The important contract, if you are money-orientated, is the one you sign when you are 31 not 18.”

The funny thing is that they didn’t say that when they signed him from QPR.

The sensational rise of the young 18 year old, has surprised everyone. But not Raheem, who from different sources has always believed that he can be one of the top players around and may not see Liverpool as his final destination.

If Raheem does not sign, there will definitely be a scramble for his services. That talented forward has powered on to the scene and looks better and more accomplished at every game.

Many have mentioned that money is the issue, but I think it’s more than that. Being a part of a very average Liverpool side does not appeal to the rising star. Sir Alex Ferguson has a strong youth policy and in recent years has been investing in British talent, so this it will make things very interesting if the lad designs to hold off on talks.
