Another weekend of great and thrilling EPL games. The league leaders Manchester United came away with a 1-1 draw with Spurs and should feel lucky to have gotten a point after being totally dominated in the 2nd half.
Robin van Persie opened the scoring, netting his 18th goal of the campaign, giving United the only dividing factor between these two teams in a half that was evenly played. Spurs were unfortunate not to pick up all 3 points after their 2nd half performance, even though it took a late goal by Clint Dempsey to tie the contest. The draw reduces United’s lead at the top to 5 points and gives Spurs a huge moral victory and keeps their champions league hopes alive.

Manchester City maintain their form going on to win without really exerting themselves, extending their streak to 6 wins in 7. The task for Fulham became even tougher after City scored in the 1st 10 mins. City made light work of a poor Fulham team as the only thing that kept the score line at 2 goals was City’s poor finishing.

In the Chelsea – Arsenal London derby, Chelsea came away 2-1 winners after going up 2-0 in the 1st 15 minutes. In a fixture that was once a major date on the English calendar, the game now carries far less importance as Arsenal’s standing as a EPL power has dropped substantially. The game and result were a testament to that fact. Arsenal were thoroughly 2nd best and the result did not reflect the Chelsea dominance. At no point were Chelsea in any serious danger of losing as Arsenal where clearly out of their depth. Theo Walcott pulled a goal back for the gunners, but it was all too little to late, as the result signifies Arsenal are a team trying to break into the top 4.
