Reading vs  Aston Villa face each other in a big relegation 6 point showdown showdown. Both teams sit in the relegation zone with things looking very bleak. The loser of this game can pretty much count on being relegated. Villa come in off a tough loss 1-0 loss to Manchester City in a truly valiant display. If they can muster half of that effort on a consistent basis they’ll have a slim hope of beating the drop.

Queens Park Rangers vs Sunderland, Harry Redknapp’s QPR face Sunderland with the hopes for survival looking very slim. They sit bottom of the league with 10 games to go. If they are to make a push for survival it must start sooner rather than later. Redknapp, brought in several players during the transfer window and now its time for to work his magic.

Elsewhere, Norwich face Southampton in a game with big implications. Southampton not fully clear of the drop need to pick up points, so as not to be drawn into the relegation fray. Norwich find themselves looking for one or two more wins, out of the next ten game before they can break out the champagne and celebrate another year in the premier league.

West Brom face Swansea, two teams that can be happy with their premier league seasons. West Brom, with new manager Steve Clark, have had their best premiership campaign in their history and can look forward to another year in the worlds top league. Swansea have also had an impressive season and look on their way to cementing themselves as a genuine premier league team. They have the added bonus of having European football next year, curtesy of their Capital cup win as well as having the much in demand manager, Michael Laudrup sign up for another year.

Newcastle United vs Stoke City; Newcastle find themselves still teetering on their edge of the relegation battle. Not quite in it, while at the same time not completely free. They face a tough match-up against a tough and determined Stoke side who will make it very difficult. Newcastle need  the points to breathe a little easier. Stoke although, they have not had a great season have done enough to find themselves comfortable in mid table.

It’s coming down to the wire….
