English Premier League Preview Game Week 13

English Premier League Preview Game Week 13

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur:
A classic North London Derby between two teams with aspirations of a top 4 finish and Champions league football. Arsenal are a team in crisis, after years of being a solid top three team, their position is under serious threat. They have long relinquished their hold as the EPL’s second team and are now working on maintaining their top 4 status. Tottenham are a team on the verge of being a legitimate top four team, coming off two straight losses and need to get back to winning ways. With Spurs improvement and Arsenals decline, this game is about more than a derby and bragging rights, pride and position are at stake.
Prediction .
Roderick: 2-2
Ali: 2-1

Manchester City vs Aston Villa; The Champions City find themselves in 2nd place still in the running to defend their title, while still not hitting top gear. City come into the game off a good win and performance over Spurs and will look to continue that with a win over Villa. Villa on the other hand find themselves struggling at the wrong end of the standings, even though they will take their performance in their loss to Man United as a positive. They are slowly getting better, but not soon enough.
Prediction.
Roderick: 3-1 Man City
Ali: 3-0 Man City

Reading vs Everton: Everton are having their best start to an EPL campaign in the David Moyes era, while Reading find themselves struggling in their return to the premiership and are still looking to get their 1st win of the season. Everton will prove too strong in a comfortable win. Readings efforts and hard continues, again without picking up any points.
Prediction.
Roderick: 2-0 Everton
Ali: 2-1 Everton

Liverpool vs Wigan Athletic: Brendan Rodgers has his Liverpool team playing solid football and they come into the game after a good result at Chelsea. Liverpool will look to pick up a win against an inconsistent Wigan side and continue moving up the table after a slow start to the year.
Prediction
Roderick: 2-0 Liverpool
Ali: 2-1 Liverpool

West Bromwich Albion
vs Chelsea: A tricky match up for Chelsea as they play a WBA side that are very good at home, as well as being managed by Steve Clarke, who knows Chelsea inside out from his time spent there. Chelsea are in a minor slump after only picking up 2 points from the last 3 games need a win to stay in touch with the two Manchester sides.
Prediction.
Roderick: 2-1 Chelsea
Ali: 2-1 Chelsea

Newcastle United vs Swansea City;
Newcastle were unfortunate not to get a result last week after dominating West Ham and will be looking for a win, while an inconsistent Swansea, will find themselves outclassed by an eager for a win Newcastle.
Prediction:
Roderick: 2-0 Newcastle
Ali: 1-1 Draw

Queens Park Rangers vs Southampton; A bottom of the table clash, genuine 6 point game, featuring two managers who may have their jobs on the line. Neither team has gotten off to the start that they would have liked and both look like relegation candidates. QPR and Mark Hughes need a win for his expensively assembled squad, a loss could be fatal.
Prediction:
Roderick: 1-1
Ali: 1-0 QPR

Norwich City vs Manchester United; Norwich picked up a good home against Arsenal and are on a good run of form, but are very unlikely to get the same this weekend. Man Utd got a scare last week and had to dig down to get a result. I doubt they will be caught napping two weeks straight is very unlikely. Man Utd win comfortably.
Prediction.
Roderick: 2-0 Man Utd
Ali: 5-0 Man Utd

Fulham vs Sunderland; Fulham scored 3 in their draw with Arsenal last week with Dimitar Berbatov in world class form, will be flying high after last weeks result. Sunderland come into the game on the back of hard tough loss at Everton. Sunderland’s goalscoring woes will continue as Fulham prove to classy for Sunderland.
Prediction.
Roderick: 2-0 Fulham
Ali: 2-1 Fulham

West Ham United vs Stoke City: On paper it would appear to be a battle between two sides that look to get the ball in the box to their big man early, (read: long ball specialists). But in reality both teams play a more sophisticated brand of football than that. Stoke’s Tony Pullis has taken a page out of West Ham’s Sam Allardyce on how to succeed in the premiership using that style and have found mid table success as a result.
Prediction.

Roderick: 2-1 West Ham
Ali: 1-1 Draw
