Is the Premiership the best league in the world? Or is La Liga better? 10

Watch this week’s Football Deluxe Talking Point to find out which is the best team in the world, also a round up of the English Premier League and some other football news, or read the transcript below.

Lina: Hey guys as there are no EPL games, we are going to take a moment and discuss some of the hot topics in the World of Football. Let’s look at the English Premier League, what about Manchester United, are they champions now or are they going to be crowned, what’s going on?

Ali: Yes they are champions now! Give me the crown, give me the trophy, I’m going to go to the changing room, I’m just going to hand it to them.

Rod: Yes, it’s done, it’s done and dusted. With Manchester City losing this weekend at Everton. It’s over! 15 points clear, with 9 games to go.

Ali: 9 games to go, 5 games they would have to lose, he could be the youth team in there and they could still win the title, and I think that’s what he will do.

Lina: What about Arsenal, do they still have a chance, what’s going on?

Ali: You mean the Champion’s League spot? Arsenal definitely!

Rod: Arsenal are back in it, the Champion’s League spot is a much better race than the Championship for them.  You have three or four teams now fighting for three spots. Arsenal are coming good, they are coming good at the right time. Not good for Spurs…

Ali: That’s what I was going to say, it kind of reminds them of what happened last season. Two games on the trot that they have lost now. Arsenal are energised by that and Arsene Wenger has got a habit of actually at the right time…  and that’s what makes a good coach?

Yes, it's done, it's done and dusted. With Manchester City losing this weekend at Everton. It's over! 15 points clear, with 9 games to go.

Yes, it’s done, it’s done and dusted. With Manchester City losing this weekend at Everton. It’s over! 15 points clear, with 9 games to go.

Rod: Yeah, and also in terms of that spot, you have got Chelsea. Chelsea, somehow someway they find a way to win amidst all the turmoil, but their team just goes out and wins.

Ali: But Benitez is still not going to be there?

Rod: It doesn’t matter about Benitez, that team is winning and they are playing well.

Ali: So Tottenham? They not going to make it, are they?

Rod: Oh yes, I suppost they will make it, that’s why it’s a great race.

Lina: Is EPL still the best league in the world? What do you think?

Ali: I would say that for me they are the most exciting league in the world. Definitely.

Lina: Exciting, what do you mean?

Ali: Exciting means that it’s the league I want to watch. Again the facts don’t lie, 17 years you have always had a team in the quarter finals, but not there. Manchester United leading the pack by 15 points at this stage of the season, their team isn’t even the best Utd team ever. Ryan Giggs is one of their best players, the facts don’t lie.

Rod: He’s 39 years old… Also when you look at the best league, you don’t look at the best, but the top 4-5, that’s what carry’s the league.  So their top 4-5 is pretty much average this year. When you go and look at Spain’s league now, it maybe a two-horse-race. Those two teams are very very dominant. Two top players in the world, two top managers in the world, dominant in the league.

Ali: I know some of these fans are going to say the Spanish league, La Liga is the best league in the world.

Lina: And on that same point Ali, I see Rio has been recalled to the English squad for the upcoming qualifiers.

Rod: He’s been recalled after being out for almost 11 months, the two centre backs weren’t very good the last game, it needs a veteran.

Lina: What does that say as Roy Hodgson as a manager?

Rod: Well he’s a good manager, but he’s just been dealt a rough hand.

Ali: I just think it’s little too late, little too late. I rate him as a manager for sure, bad call on this one, I’m going to go a little bit deeper, “Politics”! John Terry!

Rod: That decision was above Hodgson’s head. He was dealt a bad hand in that situation, and he’s dealt with it his best.

Ali: Regardless, you are the England manager, you make the decisions, that’s your job, that’s what you get paid for, you get paid to make the tough decisions, he made the wrong one.

Rod: Well you know what, he’s made a tough decision, he brought him back.

Ali: Too late, that’s what I’m saying, it’s too late, he should have brought him back to…

Lina: Let’s see guys what our fans are thinking, some fantastic points we’ve had today, now back to Allie.

Allie: Thanks lina, guys that about wraps it up, make sure you tune to next week show as we discuss the results and the implications of the game. Leave your comments and thoughts below and don’t forget to subscribe to our channel.
