Would Manchester United have succumbed to a re-surgent Real Madrid? 2

According to some it is believed that if Real Madrid were to play Manchester United instead of the noisy neighbors (Man City) in the UEFA Champions league, united would have been raped, pillaged and then raped again. Well dear sirs. i respectfully disagree.

At one point, in fact with minutes to go City were 2-1 ahead, and this all away at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, but if you actually sat there and watched the game, the two goals scored came from their only one legitimate shot on target and a poorly defended free kick which saw it’s own way into the back of the net. Where as Real did in fact did dominate proceedings as surely you would expect them to do at home, and with 5 minutes to go did prove that they can score at will, notching up two successive goals to take the tie 3-2 back to the blue half of the city.

First question I’d like to ask the accusers is, why weren’t City able to defend a 1 goal lead with only minutes to go? Albeit, it was a decent performance from the blues, it wasn’t a great performance, it wasn’t a Champions League Winners kind of performance. It was safe. City do not look like a team that is going to dominate football on all fronts. They were lucky winning the EPL, with seconds to go and they were lucky Real Madrid didn’t score 3 or 4 more goals, which would have been a more truer reflection of how the game actually went.

Would Man United have succumbed to a re-surgent Real Madrid? Definitely not! For starters, they know how to hold on to a 2-1 lead with a few seconds to go.
