Roderick Scott

Roderick Scott is a former professional Canadian footballer and current youth coach. Represented the Canadian National team on several occasions, most significantly he represented Canada in the 1993 Gold Cup in Mexico. Roderick ultimately made five appearances for Canada’s full national side—three in the ‘93 CONCACAF Gold Cup in Mexico City—before a knee injury forced him to retire in 1996.

With no professional outdoor league in the United States at the time, Roderick began his career indoors with the Dallas Sidekicks in the season winning two championship rings in the Continental Indoor Soccer League (which succeeded the MISL) with the Sidekicks (in 1993) and the Las Vegas Dust Devils (1994).

Roderick then quickly made the transition from player to coach, joining the Sidekicks' staff as an assistant for one season and starting his work with top-level youth teams in the Dallas area in 1999. He has held a prominent coaching role since 2000 with the Dallas Texans, who rank among the America’s top youth soccer programs.
